Everyday Heroes – MaryAnn Berry

Threads of Kindness…

An interview with Maryann Berry, a member of a volunteer textile group that meets weekly to support those in need. The twenty-five members create handmade items such as quilts, scarves, and hats, which are distributed to food pantries, veterans, and shelters. By using their skills to provide warmth and comfort, these volunteers serve local organizations and individuals who might otherwise lack essential winter gear or gifts. The program also fosters a strong sense of community among the participants, who welcome new members regardless of their religious affiliation or experience level.  MaryAnn shows us that ordinary citizens can make a profound impact on their neighbors through simple acts of generosity and craftsmanship.

If you’d like to know more about the group, meetings are on Wednesdays from 10:00-12:00 in St. Mary’s Parish Hall located directly across from Sunflower on Washington Avenue. For more information contact the Church secretary at 804-224-7186.
