Meeting and Greeting

Despite the cold, the Volunteer meetup at Buzz/Colonial Beach Brewing was a great success! It was fun to meet some new residents interested in volunteering, and to visit with some of the many people who already volunteer their time to the local non-profit groups in the Colonial Beach area (including WWER). I actually wonder if more people came out because they were getting stir crazy at home! Either way it was nice to talk to folks about WWER, and to meet people from some of the other non-profits in town. I consider one of WWER’s roles to be to act as a resource for other organizations to help them get the word out about their group, their mission, and events they are having. Gatherings like this allow us to exchange ideas and make plans for collaboration.
Special thanks goes out to Sally Adams and Caryn Self SUllivan for organizing the event, and to The Buzz and Colonial Beach Brewing for the use of their space.
