October Talk

October is upon us!  While we know you mostly listen to WWER for the great music, we do have talk shows worth your attention too!  The shows air on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, with a different show each week of the month.  We start October with a Town Matters interview with Charlotte Cole, Executive Director of Downtown Colonial Beach and Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the Town of Colonial Beach. Charlotte speaks about colonial beach revitalization projects and how they are supporting the community.

Town Matters:

• Thursday 10/1 at 8PM
• Saturday 10/3 at 9AM

Everyday Heroes

On Mondays at 12:10PM we feature Everyday Heroes.  Local folks doing good deeds.  Host Mary Parker sits down with one of the unsung heroes of our area and finds out a bit about them or their organizaion.  In October, Mary speaks with Julie Burks about her leadership of a support group dedicated to individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The meetings take place on the first Wednesday of every month at the Colonial Beach library, offering a safe space for caregivers to share their experiences and access resources.  Julie can be reached at 804-366-1286
