Christmas Presents

Written by on December 14, 2019

The Holidays are upon us, and WWER has some gifts for you!  Please tune in for these special programs we have planned for you:

Christmas Eve:

  • All Christmas music throughout the day starting just after midnight.
  • 8PM – An encore presentation of Dave’s special Early Jazz Music Review.  It’s full of some really wonderful old radio broadcasts from Christmases long ago.  The recordings during WWII were particularly fascinating and poignant to listen to.
  • 10PM – We continue the old radio nostalgia with the CBS Campbell Playhouse 1939 production of “A Christmas Carol”.   You’ll hear the entire show as it aired on December 24, 1939.

Christmas Day:

  • All Christmas music throughout the day.
  • 8:30AM – Music of “The Nutcracker”.  Enjoy this Christmas Classic as you wake up Christmas morning.
  • 10AM – A 1950 recording of NBC’s Bing Crosby Christmas Special.

We are very excited to spend our first Christmas with you and hope you enjoy these special gifts we have planned.  We’re giving our show producers some time off, so you won’t hear any of our specialty shows like Porch Talk, The Beat Goes on, or Vinyl University for 2 weeks starting December 21.   Please enjoy the Christmas music which will continue as part of the mix for the 12 Days of Christmas, until January 6.

For my part, I wish you all health and happiness for the Holidays, and prosperity in the new year.

Sincerely,

Ted Tait
Station Manager
