Phase II begins
Written by Ted Tait on June 6, 2020
It’s nice to see things slowly returning to ‘normal’ for the Summer! People are coming to the beach, businesses are starting to open up, and some events are being planned. One of those events is “Cinema on the Green” run by the Colonial Beach Community Foundation. I’m happy to say that the first Cinema event of 2020 will be to benefit WWER! Unlike previous versions, this will be held on Town Hill and there will be some changes to make it safe in this COVID-19 environment.
If you’re like most of us, you’re ready to start venturing out of the house for something besides scavenging for toilet paper! Please join us Saturday, June 13, at dusk on Town Hill for 1990’s Mermaids (PG-13, 1 hr 50 min). Watch from your golf cart drive-in style (we encourage that), or bring a chair or blanket. Admission is free, but donations for WWER 88.1 FM will be accepted. Bring your own snacks.
For everyone’s comfort and safety, social distancing measures will be in place and we ask that everyone respect them. Also, a hand sanitizer station will be provided and clean, new masks available. There will be no food or drink concessions, but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.
